How do FreightDesk Online shipments work with Shopify's shipment notification emails?

Single Shipment Orders

When a Shopify order is fulfilled using FreightDesk Online, FreightDesk Online writes the tracking number back to Shopify. This is true for postal, parcel, and freight shipments. If the Shopify store is set up to send shipment notification emails, then the customer will receive an email with the shipment tracking link.

Multiple Shipment Orders

Some orders can be sourced from multiple origins, or may have multiple shipments from the same origin. FreightDesk Online will write each tracking number back to Shopify, and if configured, Shopify will send a shipment notification email to the customer for each one. Each email will identify the contents of the shipment. The shipments can occur on different days.
