# Root Causes of R+L Carriers Error Messages

## Reasons why R+L Carrier's API may be returning certain errors.

This document identifies specific errors returned by R+L's API and what to do about them.

### Error: Due To Contractual Obligations We Can Not Provide This Rate. Please Contact The Rates Department.

#### **Known reasons for the error**

The reason for the error may be one of the following:

- An email was not provided when a login to the R+L website was created.
- R+L requires a pricing tariff specific to the shipping origin.

#### What to do when encountering this error

Contact R+L  carriers for assistance in resolving this error. The following email addresses have proven to be helpful in the past:
