Learn how a shipping rate estimate is identified when there are multiple origins involved.
The LTL Freight Quotes and Small Package Quotes applications permit merchants to define drop ship locations. As a result, when there are multiple items in the shopping cart, more than one location may be required to fulfill the order. If so, the applications will retrieve the cheapest rate available for each origin, sum them together and display the result as a single rate in the checkout process labeled Shipping.
If both the LTL Freight Quotes and Small Package Quotes applications are installed, the normal rules apply as to which rates will be available at each location. Therefore the rate displayed to the shopper may be comprised of both LTL freight and parcel rates.
