July, 2026 - Expanded Scopes for the BigCommerce Real Time Shipping Quotes App

The feature set of the Real-time Shipping Quotes constantly expands to meet the needs of BigCommerce merchants. Much of the app's evolution stems from direct customer feedback. Occasionally, the scopes (what the app can access in BigCommerce) must be expanded to support new features. In July, 2026, the following scopes were added to the list required for the app:

Content (From None to Modify)
Grants access to the store's content management system, allowing developers to create, update, and manage static content such as pages, blog posts, and articles.

Checkout Content(From None to Modify)
Enables access to customize and manage content that appears during the checkout process, such as terms and conditions, payment  instructions, and promotional messages.

Merchants who already have the app installed will be prompted to approve the app's access to these scopes the next time the app's settings are accessed:

Step 1 - Enable the checkbox to approve the expansion of scopes.

Step 2 - Click on the Confirm button to complete the approval process.

Merchants who install the app after it has been updated to include these scopes will approve them as part of the normal app installation process.
