Instructions for Shopify merchants who need to migrate the Small Package Quotes or LTL Freight Quotes app to the new subscription plan.
Have you been notified that the subscription plan of one or more of the apps you're using is being discontinued? If so, this article is for you. Follow the steps below to migrate the app to the new subscription plan. If you don't execute these steps, the app will eventually stop working and may interfere with the ability of your shoppers to complete the checkout process.
If you have questions or are uncertain if this article is relevant to you, check out the frequently asked questions (FAQs) section later in this document.
Estimated time to complete: 5 minutes.
Login to your Shopify store with the Store Owner credentials. Only the Store Owner can complete these steps.
Click Apps from the Shopify navigation menu.
Locate the Eniture Technology app installed on your store. It will resemble the image below, although the name of the app may be different. You may have more than one app from Eniture Technology installed. If so, repeat these steps for each app.
Click on the name of the app to access the app settings. Take note of the plan you are currently using. You'll be using one of the following plans: Basic, Standard, Advanced.
Click on Apps from the Shopify navigation menu to return to the list of installed apps.
Locate the Eniture Technology app again and click on the trash can icon to uninstall the app. You won't lose any of your settings by performing this step. Your settings will be recovered automatically when you reinstall the app.
At the top of the Apps page, click on the Visit the Shopify App Store button
Use the Shopify App Store search feature to locate the app. If you use "eniture" as your search word, you'll get a list of all of the apps Eniture Technology has published in the Shopify App Store. Click on the app and then the Add App button.
If you can't find the app, you may be using one that isn't published in the Shopify App Store. In this case, locate the app on eniture.com. You can use this link to open the Products > Shopify page in a new browser tab. Click on the product badge and then the Get button.
Use the installation wizard to install the app.
In Step 4 you identified the plan you were on. If you were on the Basic plan, you can skip this step. If you were on the Standard or Advanced plan, locate the app on the Apps page. Click on the app name to load the app settings. On the Plans tab, select your plan.
At this point you've succeeded migrating the app to the new subscription plan. The app should be operational. Still, it's a good idea to conduct a couple of tests. Place items in the cart that the app should provide a quote for. Enter the checkout process and advance to the Shipping Methods page. Verify that shipping rates are appearing in the Shipping Methods region of the page.

Why is the existing subscription plan being discontinued?
Several resources used by the app increased their fees in 2018. The most notable of these was Google who began charging for use of the application programming interfaces (APIs) available in the Google Cloud Platform. The app relies heavily on these APIs which were previously free. The change to the Google Cloud Platform business model is a primary reason for the increase.
Why is the migration happening this late in 2019?
We attempted to migrate the existing subscribers on February 11, 2019. Unfortunately the instructions Shopify provided were incorrect and our effort to migrate our existing subscribers was largely unsuccessful. A lot of confusion ensued. Instead of exacerbating the confusion by immediately attempting the migration again, we decided to let the dust settle first. We lose money on merchants that are on the old subscription plan. To make sure we are financially heathy and can continue to offer and maintain these apps, we need to migrate the merchants to the new subscription plans.
How is the cost of my subscription changing?
There's no change to the monthly subscription rate for the Advanced plan. The Basic plan is changing from $15 to $20 per month. The Standard plan is changing from $20 to $25 per month.
