How to Retrieve An Older Version of a WooCommerce Plugin

Use these instructions to retrieve the installation file for an older version of a WooCommerce plugin from Eniture Technology.

Why Might You Have an Interest in an Older Version of a Plugin?

Eniture Technology routinely publishes updates to its WooCommerce plugins. The purpose of an update could...

  • Introduce new features;
  • Address new version requirements from WordPress or WooCommerce;
  • Deliver additional security measures;

WooCommerce merchants often apply updates directly in the production environment, without testing them first in a staging environment. It is also not uncommon for updates to multiple plugins to be applied simultaneously. This can result in the website exhibiting unexpected behavior and performance. When it does, an interest in reverting the plugin to its previous version is often the reaction.

Before You Revert to the Previous Version of the Plugin...

Eniture Technology performs extensive testing on plugin updates before releasing them to the public. It is unlikely that an update to a plugin from Eniture Technology is the cause of your website's unexpected behavior or performance. Before reverting to the previous version of the plugin, deactivate it. Afterward, test the website to see if the problem persists.  If so, then the root cause of the problem is not the Eniture Technology plugin, and reverting to a previous version won't resolve the issue.

Steps for Retrieving the Previous Version's Installation File.

If you're convinced that you need the installation file for the previous version of the Eniture Technology plugin, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the WordPress plugin directory. (https://wordpress.org/plugins/).
